Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 also known professionally under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On October 21, 2016 she debuted Pho Her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. The album was released when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on in May 7th, 2019. Ari Lennox released her debut music online in 2012. Her first album was Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the internet, including her independently launched single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as from Sweat It Out, on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. After that, in the course of the year, her music was circulating through Dreamville. The 8th of December was the day she confirmed that she had been hired by Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. On October 21 2016 she debuted her first EP called Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song. She also performed at the opening of The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she went on to guest feature in two songs featuring her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's album debut Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream From the album came out the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a unreleased music videos. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. On the 13th of November she released two more singles: the No One as well as Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in November 16and later made the track available as a single by herself for Her debut album. It was released with the music video which debuted on February 20, 2019, which it surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in its first seven days. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK as part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December, 2018.
